Ayoung Gelfling warrior in the Castle of the Crystal, Rian aspires someday to be captain of the Guard, like his father Ordon. SPECIAL BASE DESIGN
The three different sized circular bases across our 1:6 scale Dark Crystal range represent the Three Suns in the skies of Thra; the dying sun, rose sun, and great sun. Familiar iconography from the floor of the Crystal Chamber are featured around the outside. Spy the symbols of the urSkek, which have since been appropriated as signs of discord and Skeksis aggression.

Youngest daughter of All-Maudra Mayrin, Princess Brea was spared the duties of an heir in training: those responsibilities falling upon eldest sister Seladon. Where her middle sister Tavra took up the sword to become a warrior, Brea’s insatiable curiosity propelled her into more academic pursuits.
Brea’s freedom often set her at odds with duty-bound Seladon, who begrudged their mother’s indulgence and was frustrated by what she deemed Brea’s childlike naivety. When Brea’s thirst for knowledge lead her to a profound discovery, Seladon’s heart was hardened by jealousy and hurt. For beneath the very throne of the All-Maudra lay a secret that would shatter the Gelfling subservience to their Skeksis lords.
In the tumult that followed, Brea would find herself pitted against the wrathful Lords of the Crystal, forced to flee her home and be labelled a traitor in the wake of unimaginable tragedy. Despite pain and loss, she would rebuild bonds of love and rise to fight for Thra.

Among the peoples of Thra Podlings might be thought of as least, given their humbleness and short stature. Living uncomplicated lives and delighting in simple pleasures, Podlings are usually peripheral to acts of boldness and heroism, but Hup is no ordinary Podling. What he might lack in physical presence, Hup more than makes up for in heart. Earnest and brave, with a deep sense of justice and loyalty, his dream is to be the first Podling Paladin to serve the All-Maudra.
But the Podling must set aside his hopes of recruitment when he meets the Gelfling Deet, instead becoming companion and protector to the Grottan on the perilous quest that has brought her above ground. No better friend will Deet find in Hup, and she will come to need the brave Podling’s help, for the burden of knowledge she bears and the dangerous path she must walk cannot be managed alone.

Ferociously tenacious, Baffi is the furry companion of Maudra Fara of the Stonewood Gelfling clan. Already a formidable warrior herself, Fara’s commanding presence is elevated by the growling, eye-patched Fizzgig perched at the foot of her throne.
When fugitive Gelfling guard Rian comes to Stone-in-the Wood seeking an audience with Fara, and turmoil ensues, Baffi is quick to leap to his lady’s defence. As the eldest daughter and heir of All-Maudra Mayrin, Queen of the seven Gelfling clans, Seladon had devoted herself to the duties of one bound to wear the crown.
Despite her diligence and self-sacrifice, the princess never felt appreciated by her mother, and begrudged what she perceived as an irresponsible indulgence of her youngest sister Brea’s whimsical flights of fantasy.
When turmoil and heresy engulf the Gelfling, Seladon seeks to preserve the order and stability of Skeksis rule that have kept her family in power. Betrayed when her mother sides with Brea, Seladon disavows bonds of family and love, branding Brea traitor and blaming her when the Skeksis murder the All-Maudra.

On her quest to expose the dark lies imposed upon her people by the cruel Skeksis, Brea is joined by her companion and protector, Lore; single-minded in purpose and as resolute as the stone from which he was carved. So long as he is by her side, no harm shall befall her.
Beneath her mother the All-Maudra’s throne, the Gelfling Princess Brea discovers a secret chamber. In the mysterious shadows, the young princess awakens a being unlike anything she has ever encountered or heard of. Before her eyes, an innocuous pile of stones coalesces to form a towering creature. Advancing upon her, it extends a long talon of rock menacingly in her direction.
Cornered, the princess prepares for the worst, yet the golem turns his wicked limb to one side. Resting it upon his rotating forearm, it plays a message in a harsh, gravelly voice:
‘Be not afraid. This creature is Lore, and while he may seem threatening, you are perfectly safe.’
