US NAVY SALVAGE TEAM D-DAY

After the assult operations were successfully completed,Omaha beach continued to be the only available port in Northern France until the middle of Oct. until the ports of Cherbourg and then LeHarve were opened to the allied shipping.When the salvage units arrived in Aug. there assignments were to restore the ports and city.
