武装党卫队共45个师,其中第39-45师尚未正式建立.武装党卫队一共有三类部队:

1.SS-师(SS-Division,命名规则:SS-军兵种-Division+称号),一级战斗部队,绝大部分为装甲师,是由普通SS转为武装SS的"纯雅利安族"部队,是武装党卫队中最精锐的部队.

2.SS-志愿师(SS-Freiwilligen-Division,命名规则:SS-Freiwilligen-军兵种-Division+称号),二级战斗部队,由德裔或非德国雅利安族人员组成,一部分人员是直接招募,战斗力稍差.

3.SS-武装师(Waffen-SS-Division,命名规则:Waffen-军兵种-Division+der SS+称号),三级战斗部队,党卫队中的冒牌货,名义上由党卫队控制,实际上只相当于敌占区的保安部队,而且任何人只要符合条件都能参加,基本上是直接招募(第36师除外).

此外还有特殊的SS-警察师(SS-Polizei-Division,命名规则:SS-Polizei-军兵种-Division)是由警察组成的武装SS部队.这种部队只有2支,将在下面介绍.

值得注意的是,这仅仅是理论情况,实际上SS-师中有一部分匈牙利人,而SS-武装师中的军官差不多全是德国人.

4.SS-Polizei-Panzergrenadier-Division

其成员大多来自由党卫队控制的秩序警察部队（Ordnungspolizei，缩写Orpo），其标志同样是“狼之钩”。

35. SS- und Polizei-Grenadier-Division

１９４５年３月由党卫军第２９和第３０警察团组成，由此得名。

　　该师的标志在古代北欧文字中叫“Hagall”，代表坚定的信念，另外在其它一些纳粹集会上也经常有出现。罗马数字“Ⅱ”代表是第二支党卫军警察部队。

German Maschinenpistole Erma (MPE) Submachinegun
Designed by Heinrich Vollmer in the late 1920 's, the Erma was used until 1938 when replaced by the MP38. The MPE has a barrel jacket with long slots, a 32 shot detachable box magazine entering from the left, and a unique wooden pistol grip in the stock. The weapon was used in the Spanish Civil War, by the French Foreign Legion, and the German SS. 9 x19 mm Parabellum rounds, 500 rpm, weight 9 lbs.
