伊达政宗(1567--1636)
　　战国后期最为出类拔萃的人物，一度控制了大半个日本北部的枭雄。人称"独眼龙政宗"，"晚生了二十年的枭雄"。

　　曾祖父伊达植宗本是"奥州探题"（室町幕府在奥州方面的地方官），通过政治联姻，成为奥州地方最大的诸侯。（如果照曾祖父这样的形势发展下去，到了政宗这一代，恐怕他再晚生个十年都不怕）

　　祖父晴宗因三子伊达实元（这是错误的，实元乃是植宗的儿子）入继越后上杉家一事对植宗产生不满，父子之间的矛盾引发了"天文的大乱"，两派势力对立十数年，直到植宗死去为止。正在此时，远在东海道的织田，德川等，山阴山阳的毛利家等急速发展，成为战国的新兴势力；就连在近处的芦名，最上等势力都逐渐形成了超出伊达家的势头。

　　到了父亲辉宗这一代，伊达家更是处境艰难，屡屡接近灭亡的地步。

　　一代名将伊达政宗就在这种环境下长大，因为瞎了一只眼睛的缘故，十岁时差点被母亲毒杀，家中实力派人物更妄图拥立他的堂弟伊达成实；可是他并不气馁，努力学习先进的步枪技术和兵法，十八岁时继承父亲辉宗成为当主，开始了他的大名生涯。（与信长颇为相似）

　　1585年在"北方的关原大战"人取桥大战中惨败给芦名和最上军，老将鬼庭纲元等名将十数名战死，政宗从初期的顺利中清醒过来，组织了一批新势兵种"骑马步枪队"，破格任用一批年轻武将，很快的恢复了实力。直到1589年攻下须贺川城为止，在四年中统一了大半个日本北部，当年他才二十四岁。

　　正在此时，丰臣秀吉已经将大半个日本囊入怀中，政宗看清时势，投降秀吉，保住了伊达家的基业。

　　可是，伊达政宗的脑中总还怀有着天下之梦，煽动了陆奥葛西一代的农民起义。（想像室町时代的足利尊氏那样起家）起义被镇压后，阴谋败露，政宗多次上京向秀吉解释和反省，终于从新得到秀吉的信赖。（但自此以后，政宗开始奉行明哲保身的态度，棱角为理智磨掉）秀吉死后，在德川家康许以百万石的诱惑，参加东军，与叔父最上义光拖住了北陆一代强大的上杉家，为东军的取胜带来了间接的辅助。（与加藤清正在九州扮演的角色一样）大坂之战中又立战功，使他终于得到了梦寐以求的百万石领地。（主家九十余万加次子在宇和岛藩的十万石）

　　家康死后，政宗已失去夺天下的雄心，1636年在藩内去世，享年七十岁。

　　（纵观他的一生，我们不难发现，政宗虽是一名有才华，有实力的武将，但以他不能容人，心胸狭隘的性格来看，如与堂弟成实的矛盾以及将自己生母逼回娘家的举动；即使他真是早生了个二十年，恐怕天下也轮不到他）

　　政宗在文化方面有比较高的建树，如茶道方面，美术方面等。对基督教也相当感兴趣，曾派家臣支仓常长（在下的偶像）等人到欧洲教庭访问，死时被欧洲教庭冠以"东方的勇士，东方艺术的发展者"等称号。至于一生的军事成就（如骑铁队等），在伊达成实的《伊达日记》有详尽的叙述。
